Personal Statement:

  • A criminal justice system that is honest, fair and effective is one of America's most important institutions. History teaches us that the strength of our constitutional democracy is found within the rights afforded those of its citizens who are accused of the worst of offenses. So it was with wisdom and foresight that the founding fathers of our country saw fit to enact the 6th Amendment to the United States Constitution which guarantees the right to a speedy trial judged by an impartial jury; the right to be notified of the nature and circumstances of the alleged crime; the right to confront witnesses; the right to find witnesses who will speak in favor of the accused; and most importantly the right to have a lawyer who will be a vanguard to all of these rights. That is the great privilege and honor which I am afforded in doing this work.
