Personal Statement:

The lawyer not only represents the client’s last, best hope for freedom and exoneration, but also the advocate is our collective last defense against tyranny and oppression.
  • When cases need to be negotiated, a level of familiarity with a prosecutor or judge often helps. But with the grossly disproportionate increase in sentencing penalties for sex-related crimes, combined with a life-long stigma of reporting and internet exposure, Innocence Legal Team clients need a lawyer who treats their case like it is the only case; someone whose goal is dismissal or acquittal and not just the best deal to win brownie points with the judge. Having represented clients in almost all of the lower 48 states, I have been able to sharpen my skills against lawyers throughout the country. Out of state cases are carefully screened for complexity, and when the stakes are great, it is a privilege to offer the best of my time, education and experience.
